Safety Is Our #1 Priority

It's all about safety at the Mickelsen household. To shield ourselves while surfing the internet we've started wearing our helments. What!? You mean to tell me you aren't protected?

Our House

For those of you who haven't heard yet, we are officially new home owners. Long story short, Steph saw a house listed on Craigslist, we called, looked at it, and bought it. As we have never done this before, we have nothing to judge it by, but it seemed like a fairly simple process. We had previously talked to the bank (First Federal) to find out what our monthly payments would be and our price range, so basically we were pre-approved. We made the owners an offer, they countered and we settled on that counter offer. We feel like we got a good deal on the house, I know we got a killer interest rate on our mortgage, and we LOVE the house.
Not a real good picture of the house, but we'll get some better ones. Red brick, red bar tile roof, mature landscaping including a small pond in the back yard. YEAH US!

This is a view from the front door looking into the living room. Kinda messy, I know, but we just moved in and are still unpacking and placing.

Catching Up

So, we haven't updated for a while, so I think it's about time. Back in February, for Valentines Day, we went to Sun Valley. We had a great time, and we stayed in a little bed-n-breakfast. The next morning, we go out to the car to leave...
yup, that's a fox - we managed to get a picture of him as he stopped to look at us one more time before over the snow bank. This was in the MIDDLE OF TOWN!! I guess it's not really uncommon up there, but I don't ever remember seeing one that close unless I was driving and it was running by.

So, skipping forward to about three weeks ago, Steph and I were driving along by the old K-Mart (for those of you who know where that is) and this is what we saw at the new Maverick.

The Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile!! We couldn't resist taking a picture of it!

Cherry on Top

Here are some pictures from a training trip I took in October 2008 to Minneapolis...

I went to the Mall of America. Its pretty big, especially when you can't find where you parked. I knew where I was parked, I just couldn't find the door i came in, so I ended up walking around the outside of the mall until I found it. This is why I should not travel alone.

I went to the sculpture garden, where they had a ton of different sculptures and of course the landmark Cherry on the Spoon....In my opinion they should have included some ice cream or whip cream.

Shoot Me to the Moon

For our one year anniversary we went to the moon.

As long as we were in the area, we decided to make a quick stop at Mars.

St. Louis

Okay, we are not totally boring, just pretty boring. We have done some cool things in the past year or so. Thanks to my job and training, we have got to go to some place we would not have gone to other wise.

Here are some pictures from my last training to St. Louis. We went to a pretty cool museum called the "City Museum." It was for the kids and kids at heart. We also went to the Zoo, Gateway Arch, a neat-o frito Catherderal, and an awesome park with lots of museums.

We have to keep him caged when we travel.

At the zoo with the snotty, drooley, foaming mouth camel. YUM!

And would our trip be complete without a ride to the top of the Gateway Arch?

We're Blogging...Kind Of

Well, we decided we needed to join the blogging craze. So we've created our blog, got the layout, posted a picture and now we are all set up...ready to blog...but then the sad realization sunk in...we are so boring we have nothing to blog about!
